Our Virginia country inn, Dutchies View, started life in the mid-1800s as a two-room farm house on the back of the property. It had no plumbing or running water. In 1950, it was rolled with horses and logs to its current location. Three bedrooms and a bathroom, as well as electricity and plumbing, were added to accommodate a family of seven.

In 1994, a Dutch couple purchased the poorly maintained property. They added the six guestrooms and changed several of the rooms.

In 1996, Dutchies View Bed and Breakfast was born. In 2005, Crystal and Patrick Powell purchased the B&B and slowly made it home with all new country-style quilts and decorations adorning all the different rooms. In 2008, they renovated to include a larger living room with more comfortable seating options, a library area, and a larger dining room that has a beautiful view of the Blue Ridge Mountains right from your dining room chair. The kitchen was also updated to be more efficient and roomy.
